Let me start out by stating this;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I am not a member of The International Franchise Association.<\/strong> (IFA<\/span><\/strong>)<\/p>\n

That’s full disclosure, folks.<\/em><\/p>\n

One thing that I feel they do a stellar job with is lobbying. Matthew Shay, it’s leader, knows how to work it over on Capitol Hill. <\/p>\n

The IFA just made it’s position known concerning health care reform.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I grabbed this off of their website<\/a>;<\/p>\n

“The Senate\u2019s Patient Protection and Affordable
\nCare Act will not reduce the cost of health insurance for franchised
\nemployers, and we cannot support health care legislation that fails
\nthis basic test,\u201d said IFA Vice President of Government Relations David
\nFrench. \u201cWe have consistently called for market-based reforms like
\nassociation health plans, and we are disappointed that the Senate bill
\nwill not curb costs in the health insurance system. We are also very
\nconcerned that the budgetary costs of this legislation are vastly
\nunderstated, and if passed will ensure that small franchised business
\nowners will face a future of job-killing tax hikes and mandates.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
