Did you know that <strong><a title=\"successful home based businesses\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/so-you-want-a-h\">successful home-based business owners<\/a><\/strong> provide at least <strong>50%<\/strong> of their overall household income?<\/p>\n<p>That means that some home-based business owners <em>(Some of them franchise businesses)<\/em> could be laughing all the way to their banks, while you are sitting in your corporate cubicle. <em>That&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> funny.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Home-based does not mean you&#8217;re at home a lot. But, there are some very attractive things about the home-based business model;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Low cost of entry<\/li>\n<li>Low inventory costs<\/li>\n<li>Low number of employees<\/li>\n<li>Faster break-even potential<\/li>\n<li>Lower rent<\/li>\n<li>Possible tax advantages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are several myths associated with <a title=\"business that are b2b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/top-business-service-franchise-opportunity\"><strong>home-based businesses<\/strong><\/a>, and in her recent article, Anita Campbell dispelled a few. here&#8217;s one of my favorites;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Myth:<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Home-based businesses are short-lived.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Reality:<\/strong> Nearly\u00a0<em>half<\/em> of the homepreneurs in the survey had been in business <strong>for more<br \/>\nthan 15 years<\/strong>. Just 20% had been in business for less than five years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Home-Based Businesses Are No Laughing Matter<\/h2>\n<p>You should read the rest of Anita&#8217;s article over at<a href=\"https:\/\/smallbiztrends.com\/2009\/11\/home-based-businesses-employ-more-people-than-venture-backed-companies.html\"> Small Business Trends<\/a>.
