The franchise brokerage was purchased by several franchisees who I was not on board with. And, my dad got diagnosed with lung cancer-which really sucked. I had some choices to make. I had to decide whether or not to stay on board as a franchisee.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The Decision<\/h2>\n<p>I decided to leave the franchise organization and strike out on my own.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of years later, I decided to go a different direction. I wasn&#8217;t &#8220;<em>feeling it<\/em>&#8221; anymore. Plus-and this is important, some of the people I had helped get in business a few years earlier were going out of business. It made me feel like crap-even though it wasn&#8217;t my fault. But, some of them lost a lot of money. I didn&#8217;t want to see that happen again.
