When I think of hot weather, my mind doesn’t immediately think of the wonderful vacations I’ve taken in places like North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, or even the Bahamas.<\/p>\n

I don’t go back in time to when I lived in hot, dry West Texas<\/a><\/strong>, or even hotter and<\/em> drier Las Vegas<\/a>, <\/strong>either.<\/p>\n

Nope.<\/p>\n

I think of when we visited Washington D.C.\u00a0In the summer<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Then I think of the day we watched the changing of the guard at The Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier. That<\/em> was a hot day.<\/p>\n

\"the<\/a><\/p>\n

The soldiers didn’t wipe their brows. (They’re not allowed<\/em>.)<\/p>\n

It’s so quiet there. No one talks. No one wants to.<\/p>\n

Why You Buy Warm Lemonade On A 90 Degree Day<\/h2>\n

A nice cold lemonade would have tasted good that day. For sure.<\/p>\n

Heck, it was so hot and I was so thirsty, I would have taken<\/del> purchased a warm<\/em> glass of lemonade.<\/p>\n

Especially if it was sold from…<\/p>\n

\"buy<\/a><\/p>\n

A lemonade stand. A real<\/em> one…not a fake, commercial one like you see at state fairs. I’m talking a real-live neighborhood one.\u00a0The kind of lemonade stand that sells warm plastic or Styrofoam cups of lemonade for 25\u00a2. Lemonade that’s so warm-and usually so sour, you’ll\u00a0pay<\/em> for a second one because the first one just didn’t do the trick. But, here’s the thing…<\/p>\n

It doesn’t matter how warm the lemonade is. <\/strong><\/p>\n

You’re not buying a glass of lemonade from a neighborhood lemonade stand for the taste. (Or the temperature<\/em>)<\/p>\n

You’re buying that 25\u00a2 glass of lemonade for the experience. And, to help some kids make a little money….to succeed in what’s probably their first entrepreneurial<\/a><\/strong> adventure.<\/p>\n

You’re a nice person. The kids appreciate your business. It’s why you buy a warm glass of lemonade from them on a 90 degree summer day.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Warm Lemonade Sells<\/h2>\n

If it’s packaged right, a warm<\/strong> glass of lemonade can sell very well on a hot, steamy day…anywhere in the world. That’s powerful. It’s simple, too.<\/p>\n

The warm lemonade that people from all walks of life are willing to pay for is an average product (usually<\/em>) at best. The packaging is usually blah. The kids never<\/strong> have any ice-which if they did, would help immensely. The stand itself would never win any awards related to the word “sanitary<\/em>“…or clean.\u00a0And, it’s not like there’s an attractive storefront driving customer after customer in.<\/p>\n

Or, is there?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Helping Them Succeed<\/h2>\n

You want them<\/em> to succeed. You want their business<\/em> to succeed.<\/p>\n

Plus it kind of feels good to hand those cute kids a quarter. They always say “Thank you Mister<\/em>,” or ‘Thank You Mam<\/em>.”\u00a0Every single time-without fail.<\/p>\n

(I am so darn thirsty all of a sudden.<\/em>)<\/p>\n

Other Businesses<\/h2>\n

Are there any businesses you frequent that you really want to see succeed?<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Is it because the product or service is incredible?<\/p>\n

Or<\/p>\n

Is it because the owners are good, hard-working people who you don’t want to see fail?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Franchise Owners Are People Too<\/h2>\n

Franchise owners…the local franchisees<\/a><\/strong> who live and work in your neighborhood aren’t corporations. They’re people<\/em>.<\/p>\n

People who have taken significant risk<\/a><\/strong> to open up a business in your town.<\/p>\n

People who had the courage to walk away from a more “secure<\/em>” life in order to be their own bosses.<\/p>\n

Fact:<\/strong> The people who bought one of those damn franchises<\/a><\/strong> in your area want to succeed just as much as the lemonade stand kids do.<\/p>\n

You should help them.<\/p>\n

Buy their lemonade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Even if it’s warm.<\/p>\n
