It&#8217;s not impossible, thanks to businesses like <strong><a title=\"franchise loans\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/apply-for-a-franchise-loan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this one<\/a><\/strong>&#8230;but it&#8217;s not as easy as it used to be thanks to <strong><a title=\"market crash of 2008\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foreignaffairs.com\/articles\/united-states\/2009-01-01\/great-crash-2008\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2008 market collapse<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But, still&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You want to be you&#8217;re own boss<\/li>\n<li>You have the talent<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ve started to learn about business<\/li>\n<li>You have <strong><a title=\"the right personality for owning a franchise\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/franchise-personality\">the right personality<\/a><\/strong> for franchise ownership<\/li>\n<li>You have<em> some<\/em> money<\/li>\n<li>You have your family&#8217;s support-well <strong><a title=\"support from your spouse\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/honey-im-thinking-about-buying-a-franchise\">mostly<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;re looking at <strong><a title=\"good franchises to buy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/featured-franchise-opportunities-and-franchise-business-resources\">good franchise opportunities<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;re young<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, it&#8217;s that last one that&#8217;s the problem. You probably won&#8217;t qualify for a traditional small business loan-you just don&#8217;t have the net worth needed yet. (<em>Your&nbsp;Uncle Mort is really, really rich<\/em>.) He&#8217;s a small business owner, himself. (<em>Which is why he has the money to loan you in the first place.<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve had some interesting discussions with him in the past. You&#8217;re actually pretty tight. Tight enough for him to tell you that he&#8217;d be open to lending you some money if you ever found the right business. That&#8217;s pretty cool.&nbsp;So, you decide to take good old Uncle Mort up on his offer. This could get interesting.<\/p>\n<p>You pay Uncle Mort a visit one warm summer day, and share your ideas on buying a franchise. Now, you haven&#8217;t actually <em>chosen<\/em> a specific franchise yet, but you have a few in mind.<\/p>\n<p>As an added bonus, you&#8217;re very skilled in sales. So, you sell him on your idea&#8230;your plan to buy a franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Uncle Mort says yes. He&#8217;ll loan you the money you need. He&#8217;s made careful, calculated decisions over the years, and this is just another one of them.<\/p>\n<p>In order for you to get the money, he wants you to do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Come up with at least 3 franchise choices<\/li>\n<li>Learn how to do the proper franchise research<\/li>\n<li>Bring him a thorough business plan<\/li>\n<li>Put some of your own money in<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>A Question<\/h2>\n<p>I have an important question for you:<\/p>\n<p><em>Are you willing to do whatever it takes to become your own boss?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If so, it looks to me like Uncle Mort wants you to prove it to him.
