They&#8217;re pretty good, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>That&#8217;s a problem<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s why.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h2>A 14 Year Old Can Now Write About Franchising And Sound Like An Expert<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using ChatGPT*, a 14 year old can now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/franchise-writing\">write articles about franchising<\/a>. <strong>Good<\/strong> articles. It gets worse.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>*Let me tell you about ChatGPT<\/p>\n<h2>What Is ChatGPT?<\/h2>\n<p>ChatGPT is a technological wonder.<\/p>\n<p>Simply put, it&#8217;s a state-of-the-art chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched to the world in November 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Based on OpenAI&#8217;s GPT-3 family of large language models, this impressive tool has been fine-tuned with both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques, making it capable of holding human-like conversations and more.<\/p>\n<p>As a natural language processing tool, ChatGPT is driven by advanced AI technology that can answer your questions and assist you with a wide variety of tasks, including composing emails, essays, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/seo-for-franchises\">helping with SEO<\/a>, and even code. It&#8217;s an all-encompassing tool that can potentially make your life a lot easier and more efficient. Even <em>franchise<\/em> websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a matter of fact, if I wanted to, I could come up with a new moniker for myself, <a href=\"https:\/\/wpx.net\/?affid=5268\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">build a website<\/a>, and pump out <strong>30<\/strong> well-written franchise blog posts in a day or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wait. Let&#8217;s have a little fun. Franchising Isn&#8217;t Either.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the information AI tools like ChatGPT gather is from 2021 and earlier. That&#8217;s a problem.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially if you&#8217;re using some of that information to make <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/business-plans-franchising\">a major financial decision<\/a>-like buying a franchise <strong>this<\/strong> year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let me be blunt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#dfdfdf\">If you&#8217;re relying on information you found on a franchise website that doesn&#8217;t include the name of the person who owns and operates it-and who writes articles and sells franchising information products&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you feel me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Slow down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That means you need to use the incredible power of the internet in a smart way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/find-unhappy-franchise-owners\">franchising isn&#8217;t perfect<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You could make a mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You could end up buying a franchise you&#8217;ll never be able to make money owning because you got the wrong information before you wrote The Check. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h2>How To Be Smart Online<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p> Here are a few tips to help you be smarter online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/digital-marketing\">information you find online about franchising<\/a> (<em>or anything else<\/em>), from trusted resources.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do a quick check on the person who wrote the franchise blog post\/article you read. That means typing her name in the Google or DuckDuckGo search bar, and seeing what comes up. <strong>Hint<\/strong>: you want to see at least a dozen or more <a href=\"https:\/\/joellibava.contently.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> well-written articles<\/a> and\/or informational videos. Better yet, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3SCQjY7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a book <\/a>or two written by the author of the article.    <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Only<\/strong> use franchise-related websites to gather information that provides the name of the person running it and writing articles on it. No name? Move on to another website. Why? Because the entire website may have been created and have articles written on it by an AI tool. A robot. Of course the person&#8217;s name may be hidden because he was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefranchiseking.medium.com\/he-probably-has-a-warrant-out-for-his-arrest-33603b0f1439\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">involved in something nefarious<\/a>. Hey. You never know!    <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is there a way to reach the person providing the information? In other words, can you email, or better yet, call the person who provided the info?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does the franchising website provide lots of franchisee numbers, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/franchise-review-crumbl-cookies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">potential earnings<\/a>? If so, are you able to verify the numbers are correct? Do you even know how? I do. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h2>The Bottom Line<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The future is here.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teenagers can create legit-looking business websites in less than a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI tools can write legit-sounding franchise articles faster than a greyhound can chase a rabbit.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"tenor-gif-embed\" data-postid=\"7635846\" data-share-method=\"host\" data-aspect-ratio=\"1.785\" data-width=\"85%\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tenor.com\/view\/greyhound-gif-7635846\">Greyhound GIF<\/a>from <a href=\"https:\/\/tenor.com\/search\/greyhound-gifs\">Greyhound GIFs<\/a><\/div>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\" async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/tenor.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n<p>But most importantly, these tools don&#8217;t care about you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They don&#8217;t care that you may about to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/franchise-investors\">invest $150,000 or more<\/a> into a franchise business. Why don&#8217;t they care about you? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because they&#8217;re not real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So be careful out there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t use only one source of information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because you never know who&#8217;s real and who&#8217;s not a who.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But an &#8220;<em>it<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post examines franchising and AI.
