But, in 1952, <a title=\"wikipedia kemmons wilson biography\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kemmons_Wilson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Kemmons Wilson<\/strong><\/a>, changed that. And more.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The Holiday Inn<\/h2>\n<p>Wilson, <em>an entrepreneur at heart<\/em>, declared that <em><strong>his hotels<\/strong><\/em> would be;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Standardized<\/li>\n<li>Clean<\/li>\n<li>Predictable<\/li>\n<li>Family-friendly<\/li>\n<li>Readily accessible to road\u00a0travelers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>And they would have phones and air-conditioning!<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kind of sounds like a franchise. It is.
