They&#8217;ve been through a lot&#8230;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They&#8217;ve had to endure wackos that have been insisting that the toys provided in <strong>McDonald&#8217;s Happy Meals<\/strong> are part of\u00a0<a title=\"mcdonalds happy meals marketing ploy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/mcdonalds-happy-meal-horrors-the-franchise-king-is-overweight-and-out-of-shape-because-he-had-one-to\">a predatory marketing ploy aimed at out nation&#8217;s children<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>They had to pay an elderly woman $400,000+ <a title=\"hot coffee lawsuit mcdonalds\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lectlaw.com\/files\/cur78.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">because they served her hot coffee<\/a><\/li>\n<li>A hooker blamed (<em>and then sued<\/em>), the McDonald&#8217;s corporation<a title=\"mcdonalds lawsuits prostitutes\" href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2012\/03\/lawsuit-of-the-day-mcdonalds-turned-me-into-a-hooker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> for turning her into a prostitute<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Two NY teenagers sued McDonald&#8217;s<a title=\"teenagers sue mcdonalds obesity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2002\/11\/21\/nyregion\/teenagers-suit-says-mcdonald-s-made-them-obese.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> for making them obese<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are even <em>more<\/em> lawsuits like those, but why go there?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Some Reverse\u00a0Psychology<\/h2>\n<p>I would have liked to be <a title=\"fly on the wall ray kroc and the franchise king\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/what-was-ray-kroc-thinking\">a fly on the wall<\/a> during what must of been some rather &#8220;<em>energetic<\/em>&#8221; marketing strategy sessions in Oak Brook during the last few months.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s because of the recent decision that was made-and is now being implemented. <strong>They&#8217;ve really gone all-in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In a bold move, McDonald&#8217;s has decided to, &#8220;<em>List calorie information on restaurant and drive-thru menus nationwide to further inform and help customers and employees make nutrition-minded<\/em><br \/>\n<em> choices<\/em>.&#8221; \u00a0Wow.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a classic, &#8220;<em><strong>We&#8217;ll show you!<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; move.<\/p>\n<p>For years and years, concerned Mommies have been hammering on McDonald&#8217;s to serve healthier foods&#8230;or at least disclose the calorie counts in what they&#8217;re serving. To\u00a0McDonald&#8217;s credit, they have not been running and hiding. But, this move is risky, and it could backfire.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Or Not<\/h2>\n<p>I enjoy a McDonald&#8217;s hamburger. I always have. Their french fries aren&#8217;t too shabby either. I don&#8217;t think that &#8220;<em>seeing<\/em>&#8221; the amount of calories that I&#8217;m shoving down my throat displayed on a sign are going to deter <em>me<\/em> from going on my weekly trek to my local <a title=\"double drive through \" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/how-mcdonalds-screwing-up-franchises\">McDonald&#8217;s double drive-thru<\/a>. <em>But, it might<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I think that people looking for a convenient meal know what they&#8217;re getting when they <em>choose<\/em> to go to a fast food restaurant, anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Could it stop Mom from taking her 4 year-old there more than a couple of times? Maybe.<\/p>\n<p>For me, I&#8217;m not going to stop eating fast food until I&#8217;m ready to. It&#8217;s <em>my<\/em> choice.<\/p>\n<p>And, as long as I always <em>have<\/em> a choice, I&#8217;m good.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>What do you think?<\/strong><\/em> Will the new menu that display calorie counts deter you from eating a Big Mac?<\/p>\n<p>Is McDonald&#8217;s doing the right thing?
