Franchisees Need A Huge Online Presence<\/h2>\n

Today’s franchise company executives are starting to realize how important this is.<\/p>\n

Your customers need to be able to easily find your business online<\/a>, because that’s usually the first place they’re looking for information on what you have to offer.<\/p>\n

As a franchisee, you depend on your franchisor to provide an easy path for your product or service to be found by your potential customers\/clients online.
\n\"should<\/a><\/p>\n

But, should you really put all of your online eggs in one basket?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In other words, if your franchisor includes a local website for you as part of your start-up package–one that they run<\/em>, is that really enough?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You May Not Understand Online Marketing<\/h2>\n

While you may understand the importance<\/em> of online marketing, unless you\u2019re actually doing it 10-12 hours a day, you may want to spend some time learning the basics.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because even if your franchisor won\u2019t allow you to set up your own website, there are<\/em> other things you can do to increase the online visibility of your franchise business.<\/p>\n

And, you may be able to implement them yourself.<\/p>\n

How To Learn About It<\/h2>\n

The only sport I got involved in when I was growing up, (besides little league<\/em>) was tennis. My father was a great tennis player, and he taught me how to play.<\/p>\n

There are only two ways to become a good tennis player.<\/p>\n

  1. Practice<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Play with someone a lot better than you<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The same is true with online marketing\u2026any type of marketing actually.<\/p>\n

    The more you do it, the better you become.<\/p>\n

    But, first you have to learn about it.<\/p>\n

    And, you need to learn from the best of the best. That\u2019s what I did\u2026and I\u2019m still<\/em> learning.<\/p>\n

    5 Online Marketing Resources<\/h2>\n

    Lee Odden-<\/strong><\/p>\n

    One of the nicest guys around, Lee’s been at it for a long time. His book<\/a> has been getting great reviews, and it\u2019s one that you should grab. His website is top-ranked<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Jim Kukral-<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Jim\u2019s a personal friend, and a respected online marketer. He\u2019s an idea machine; spend some time on his online marketing website<\/a>, and his blog. You\u2019ll see what I mean.<\/p>\n

    \u00a0Neil Patel-<\/strong><\/p>\n

    I don\u2019t know how Neil manages to make every post he writes, amazing. Every<\/em>. Single<\/em>. One<\/em>. Not only is Neil a great business writer, he\u2019s a great teacher. Read his, \u201c7 Marketing Lessons You Can Learn From The Simpsons<\/a>,\u201d and you\u2019ll pick up what I\u2019m putting down.<\/p>\n

    Derek Halpern-<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Derek is a fun guy. Smart, too. If you want to find out what your potential customers\/clients are thinking-as they search for solutions to their problems, check out Derek\u2019s main site, Social Triggers<\/a>. Derek does a lot of his teaching on video, which is great if you\u2019re visually inclined.<\/p>\n

    Kristi Hines<\/strong>–<\/p>\n

    One way to learn all you can about online marketing is to subscribe to Kikolani<\/strong>. That\u2019s because every Friday, Kristi does a mashup<\/a> of the top articles she\u2019s found pertaining to online marketing and related topics. Do it.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    I Have A Job For You<\/h2>\n

    If the marketing department at franchise headquarters won\u2019t allow<\/em> you to have your own<\/em> business website, or blog, it\u2019s your job to change their minds.<\/p>\n

    That\u2019s because your<\/em> business is your<\/em> business.<\/p>\n

    Even if you feel that you\u2019re franchisor is doing a stellar job for you, online marketing-wise, it may not be enough<\/em><\/strong>. Your business needs multiple<\/strong> <\/em>touch points online. The more the merrier.<\/p>\n

    Do this.<\/p>\n

    You’ll need a host for your website or blog.<\/p>\n
