My friend, John Jantsch<\/strong>, one of the best when it comes to business marketing<\/a> strategies, wanted to know if he could send me a free review copy of his new book.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, John. Send it over<\/em>!\u201d I told him.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s my review of The Commitment Engine<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Why This Business Book is Not<\/em> Easy To Read<\/h2>\n

Actually, if you totally ignore pages 31-38<\/em><\/strong>, The Commitment Engine is<\/em><\/strong> an easy read. Let me explain\u2026<\/p>\n

Some business books<\/strong>, (and their authors<\/em>) are really good at explaining things\u2026teaching us things that we can do to grow our businesses, or make them more efficient.<\/p>\n

And, some books in the business genre do more than teach. A lot more<\/em>. Like John\u2019s new book.<\/p>\n

The Commitment Engine gently encourages readers to do some work. But, it\u2019s not easy work.<\/p>\n

The cool this is that you-as the reader, have a choice. You can do the work that\u2019s suggested in Chapter 3, or you can skip it and keep reading.<\/p>\n

Like I did.<\/p>\n

The 1st<\/sup><\/em><\/strong> time I read John\u2019s book.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Guilt Will<\/em> Pay You A Visit<\/h2>\n

I only made it to around page 93.<\/p>\n

It was at that point that Mr. Guilt<\/strong> paid me a visit. He\u00a0didn’t\u00a0roar<\/strong><\/span> into my head. He kind of started to needle me, though. Little by little-until it was getting harder for me to concentrate on what I was reading. It was getting harder and harder to not<\/em> go back to Chapter 3.<\/p>\n

But, my inner strength<\/a> won out, and it enabled me to finish the book without doing the recommended work in Chapter 3.<\/p>\n

Wow\u2026I\u2019m strong.<\/p>\n

And weak.<\/p>\n

Do The Work<\/h2>\n

I knew<\/em> that I\u2019d have to do the work.<\/p>\n

I just\u00a0didn’t\u00a0want<\/em> to.<\/p>\n

But, I (mostly<\/em>) did what John suggested in Chapter 3 the 2nd<\/sup> time<\/strong><\/em> I read The Commitment Engine.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard work. But, it\u2019s going to be so<\/em> worth it once I finish it.<\/p>\n
