Read on.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Of Course You\u2019re Overwhelmed<\/h2>\n<p>If\u00a0you&#8217;ve\u00a0never<a title=\"searching for a franchise online\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/finding-franchises-online\"> searched for a franchise<\/a> to buy, trying to weed through thousands of opportunities can be pretty frustrating. Here\u2019s why:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You don\u2019t know what you don\u2019t know.<\/li>\n<li>You only <em>think<\/em> you know.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You know?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>A Massive Mistake<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;ve seen it happen time and time again.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a mistake that\u00a0doesn&#8217;t\u00a0have to be made.<\/p>\n<p>I <em>assume<\/em> that you know what I\u2019m referring to?<\/p>\n<p><em>But you don\u2019t<\/em>. I just <i>assumed<\/i> that you knew.<\/p>\n<p>My mistake. I\u2019m sorry. I\u00a0shouldn&#8217;t\u00a0<i>assume<\/i> anything.<\/p>\n<p>And, neither should you.<\/p>\n<p><i>That\u2019s<\/i> the massive mistake that I see <a title=\"future franchise owners\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/now-hiring-future-franchise-owners-part-ii\">today\u2019s future franchise owners<\/a> make.<\/p>\n<p>They <em>assume<\/em>. Keep reading.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Why Does This Retail Franchise Close At 6?<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Retail Franchises<\/h2>\n<p>Retail franchises can be great businesses to own.<\/p>\n<p>For one, they make wonderful family businesses. If you\u2019re looking for an opportunity in which you can involve your family members in the day-to day operations of a business, owning a retail franchise could be the way to go.<\/p>\n<p>If you can secure a great location in a busy strip center or an outdoor mall, you\u2019ll have a real good chance of success. In retail, \u201c<em>location, location, location<\/em>,\u201d really is the <a title=\"mantras in franchising\" href=\"https:\/\/www.becomeafranchiseowner.biz\/franchising-monumental-mantra\">mantra<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there <em>are<\/em> some negatives when it comes to owning a retail franchise business. They include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High build-out costs<\/li>\n<li>High inventory costs\/expenses<\/li>\n<li>Potential issues with theft (<i>Internal or external<\/i>)<\/li>\n<li>Long hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, prevailing economic conditions can impact retail franchises in a big way. Consumers tend to pull back their spending during periods of elevated inflation. (<i>The opposite is true, too, of course; if things are good, then consumers spend<\/i>)<\/p>\n<p>So, now you know a little more about retail franchises.<\/p>\n<p>Or, do you?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<em>The assumption that seeing is believing makes us susceptible to visual deceptions<\/em>&#8220;&#8212; Kathleen Hall Jamieson<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Strip Centers<\/h2>\n<p>A large percentage of retail franchises are located in high-visibility strip centers.<\/p>\n<p>But, are they all <i>retail<\/i> businesses?<\/p>\n<p>Are they all open 6-7 days a week, from 9-9?<\/p>\n<p>Are they all dependent on walk-in traffic?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Or, do some of them only <i>look<\/i> like retail businesses?<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.franchisedirect.com\/retailfranchises\/100?utm_source=Joel-FranchiseKing&amp;utm_medium=CPC&amp;utm_term=&amp;utm_campaign=King2012\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Search For Retail Franchises Now<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Signs<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re the owner of a sign franchise that\u2019s located in a busy strip center, you\u2019re not sitting behind the counter waiting for customers to come in\u2026and there\u2019s a reason for that. The Reason:<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t actually own a retail franchise; you own a sign franchise. A B2B franchise. Your franchise just happens to be <i>located<\/i> in a retail strip center.<\/p>\n<p>And, as the owner, you can\u2019t afford to wait for customers to walk in your door. You need to make things happen. You\u2019re a salesperson\u2026an outside salesperson. You <em>have<\/em> to be. That\u2019s because walk-in traffic is going to be minimal. You\u2019re out and about all day trying to drum up business.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll visit schools in your area. Schools need all kinds of signs; banners for their sporting events\u2026stuff like that. You\u2019ll also call on country clubs, restaurants, shopping malls, maybe even your fellow strip center tenants.<\/p>\n<p>Take a moment and see if you can picture a sign business that\u2019s located in your area. Where is it located? Did you think that it was a retail business?<\/p>\n<p>No\u2026you <em>assumed<\/em> that it was a retail business.<\/p>\n<p>And, if retail franchise ownership\u00a0wasn&#8217;t\u00a0on your list of top franchises that you\u2019d like to own, but sales and <a title=\"marketing a franchise\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thefranchiseking.com\/searching-for-a-franchise-retail-opportunities\">marketing <\/a>types of franchises with normal business hours <i>were<\/i>, you\u00a0would&#8217;ve\u00a0passed the sign business right by&#8230;a wasted opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Sign franchises are only open till 6.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As you search for a franchise to own, please don\u2019t make the mistake of assuming that you know exactly what the franchise businesses does-or what the franchise owner\u2019s role is.
