I think I report the facts. <strong>I think my posts and comments are reality-based.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>************************************************************************************************<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #c00000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">Would you rather that I spin things?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Maybe I should start every post I write with, &#8220;<em>Franchising is the greatest business model ever invented. You just can&#8217;t lose! Banks<\/em><strong> love<\/strong><em> the model, and it&#8217;s easy to get a loan! <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">Almost<\/span> anybody can succeed as a franchise owner<\/em>!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Yaddadedo, Yaddadedee, Blahbity Blahbity Blah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From The New York Times;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>The big national companies that dominated franchise lending before the 2008 collapse have stopped or reduced financing. The remaining lenders \u2014 often local banks \u2014 have been more restrictive in their credit underwriting, and they have been demanding more collateral (like home equity), more cash liquidity, more experience in the industry and outside sources of income, like rental income or a working spouse<\/em>.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/06\/10\/business\/smallbusiness\/10sbiz.html\">Read<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>So,<strong> was I being negative<\/strong> in March of this year, when I was suggesting that banks just are not loaning money, and I was asking for their help? <strong><a href=\"\/wannabe-franchise-owners-need-startup-loans\">Look<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>How about <strong>when I reported<\/strong> (<em>in 2008<\/em>) about the problems that McDonald&#8217;s franchisees were having getting their new latte machines financed?<strong> Read this<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Here&#8217;s a post from <strong>2009<\/strong>.
